One in nine people don’t get enough to eat.

And yet specialists agree that sustainable agriculture and fishing could produce enough food to feed the world’s entire population. The United Nations has made eliminating hunger throughout the world by 2030, its second sustainable development goal. Not only that, the UN wants to ensure that each and everyone of us has access to safe and nutritious food.

Because malnutrition is currently responsible for stunting the growth of at least one child in four. The idea is firstly to invest in the millions of small farms worldwide, which are mostly in developing countries. We need to enable them to produce food without damaging ecosystems, even in the difficult context of climate change. And if we can do that – and this is the cherry on the cake – we will enable them to generate a decent income.
