Temperatures are rising by as much as 3 °C compared to the pre industrial revolution. Sea levels are also rising by dozens of centimetres.

While weather events are becoming ever more extreme and frequent, these are just some of the established facts which have pushed the United Nations to make strengthening our resilience and capacity to adapt in the face of climate-related hazards, its thirteenth sustainable development goal. The UN wants us to take into account climate change and its consequences when deciding on national policies and strategies. But also to encourage each and everyone one of us to adapt to new ways of living.

If we are to limit the impact of climate change, we will certainly need to develop cleaner economies based on renewable energy sources, requiring cooperation at an international level as global warming has no borders.

What can you do? Educate your children about climate change. Reduce your consumption of meat and dairy.
